Two Big Car Manufacturers Do a Huge Recall of Some of Their Pickups. Be aware!

Ford and Mazda recalled more than 380 thousand old pickups for the second time to replace Takata airbag inflators. They can explode and launch dangerous little pieces, according to the Detroit News.

The free replacement of the inflators in the passenger airbags of certain Ford Ranger and Mazda B-series models from 2004 to 2006 can be done by Ford.

The Takata plant uses ammonium nitrate to create a small explosion to inflate the airbags. The chemical product can deteriorate with time, which can blow a metal canister apart.

At least 20 people died worldwide, including a victim this week.

The trucks were recalled in 2015 and 2016 to have the inflators replaced by new ones with a more recent technology. In this last recall, the inflators will be replaced for some that do not use ammonium nitrate. The buyers will be notified starting this month.

This has been a recurrent concern in America. A lot of car manufacturers have cars being recalled, placing in risk the safety of millions of drivers countrywide. In case you have a car under recall, do not delay to have it inspected. Contact your authorized car dealer to have the problem fixed as soon as possible.
