Ford offers free repair services to owners of more than 1.4 million SUVs – Explorer – to help avoiding carbon monoxide and other gasses released by the engine to enter in the vehicles, according to the American government decision to follow an investigation of recently detected problems.

US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) upgraded and expanded a probe of 1.33 million Ford Explorers under testimonies of exhaust odors inside the car and the exposition to carbon monoxide.

Police agencies related two accidents that could be linked to exposition to carbon monoxide and a third incident involving exposition to this gas that can end in death.
