Ford Offers Free Repair Services to Avoid Danger Caused by Mortal Gasses

Ford offers free repair services to owners of more than 1.4 million SUVs – Explorer – to help avoiding carbon monoxide and other gasses released by the engine to enter in the vehicles, according to the American government decision to follow an investigation of recently detected problems.

Many agencies manifested their worry about the possibility of potentially lethal gas – carbon monoxide – to enter the cabin of Ford Explorers. Federal regulators said they are aware of more than 2,700 complaints, three accidents and 41 hurt who could be linked to the gas exposition inside the Explorers used by the police and the population from the model years of  2011 to 2017.

Ford stated that its investigation did not detected levels of carbon monoxide exceeding what people are normally exposed to every day In the 1.4 million cars used by the population. There is no government standard in the USA to the levels of carbon monoxide inside vehicles. Ford believes the vehicles are safe and it is making this offer without classifying it as a recall, in response to the general concern of the customers.

The second biggest car manufacturer in the USA guarantees its dealers reprogrammed the air conditioner, replaced lift gate drain valves and inspected sealing of the back side of the vehicles. The service covers about 1.3 million vehicles in the USA and about 100 thousand in Canada and Mexico.

US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) upgraded and expanded a probe of 1.33 million Ford Explorers under testimonies of exhaust odors inside the car and the exposition to carbon monoxide.

Police agencies related two accidents that could be linked to exposition to carbon monoxide and a third incident involving exposition to this gas that can end in death.
